Tone And Style: 65 Amps
While guitar builders have long known that looks, as well as tone, really do matter, it seems that amp builders are slowly coming around to this realization. Sure, amps aren’t as visible as guitars on stage, but I see no reason for guitar amplifier companies to design plain, ugly, black boxes anymore. That’s why I love it when I see a great sounding amp with an equally attractive design.
One small company that seems to “get it” is 65 Amps. Sheryl Crow's guitarist, Peter Stroud (along with Dan Boul) designed the first 65 amp to fill his desire for a great sounding, low powered amp that would meet the needs of a traveling pro. Soon the word got out and they had a brand new business. Be sure to check out their website for more eye candy and sound samples.
