I have played for many years and owned many amps. Marshalls, Mesa's, G&K's, Dean Markley's, more Marshalls, the Johnson Millenium etc. This is my second ENGL. I played the Screamer combo for a few years, upgraded to the Mesa LoneStar (what a disaster!) then swapped that for the ENGL Powerball which I have been using solidly for over 2 years now. What a great and versatile amp. This is a 4 channel all valve 100 watt monster of an amp. It has a huge variety of tones you can dial in and the usual Clean, Crunch, Low Gain & High Gain channels with a Master volume AND a second switchable Master volume for that extra KICK. I use this amp with a single 12 Vintage 30 for cafe's, a 2x12 Vintage 30's for clubs and pubs and 2 x 4x10's quads for big gigs where I want a wide spread of sound. This amp has a ton of clean headroom and more gain than you will ever need. ENGL amps are simply fabulous.

HUGE. The sound quality and quantity for that matter is HUGE. Fabulous sound, level, tone and volume. Which can all be controlled, which is more than I can say for some of the modded Master volume Marshalls I've owned which have to be loud ALL the time. I get many comments on the sound and tone I get from my ENGL Powerball. Easy to use and silent footswitching.

Hand built German technology. It is built like a tank. Solid as a rock. My ONLY gripe is that the front panel is mirrored with black text. Great in all situations except on a dark stage or a stage with bright flashing lights. Doesn't help that my eyesight is getting worse as I age, but that is a minor issue.
