Loads of headroom and excellent attack dynamics using either an SG Special or Strat with Jeff Beck Hot Noiseless pickups. Clean up to 9, when it just begins to break up. By that time it is way loud. For dirt, I use a Boss Blues Driver pedal set at ten and two o’clock on the two large knobs. Bass is a bit unruly and woofy in some circumstances, but overall a wonderful playing experience. Heavy old thing, a hernia per gig, but a dolly with casters solves most of the grunting. I also use a cooling fan when playing it tilted back. This after burning it in the day I bought it.

It’s a Twin Reverb. LOUD, CLEAN, and it amplifies all your mistakes too. Makes you a better player, or else. After all, that’s why you buy a twin, to SOUND better.

Haven’t had any issues with the amp, I keep it covered with extra bubble wrap inside the factory dust cover. Don’t know what the construction will reveal over time, I’m sure the classical butterbox joinery is absent in the reissue. So far so good.

This amp looks and responds very well. It doesn’t have any bells and whistles that can load a circuit down. I give it the best rating because it isn’t pretentious. There are no gimmicks... just a full sound at any usable volume.

This amp sounds great using my Clapton Strat or my 70’s Les Paul Custom. Tone controls are aimed at the right center frequency for guitar. Just set everything to 5 and tweak to taste. The reverb is Lush and can be “Over the Top” at high settings. The Tremolo sounds great for just the right song. It’s the ULTIMATE SURF AMP!

I haven’t had any problems with the amp. I gig regularly and feel it will hold up to reasonable use/abuse. The components are mounted on a circuit card which is layed out nicely. It may be a bit harder to do repairs than an older “tag board” amp, but it is definitely solidly built. I suspect the cabinet isn’t quite as tough as an original 65’ twin since it’s not made from finger jointed pine... but I’m no expert on that subject... Quite a nice amp in todays “cut corners” world of manufacturing.

The Fender 65 twin reverb reissue is the best amp I’ve ever heard and also the most versatile. I know there are other great amps out there but this one’s for me. The tone comes sweeter than sugar and fatter than, like Fender says, “a butchers dog.”

The twin reverb comes with the cleanest and smoothest tone accompanied with wet reverb and a vibrato that’s sends you under water. The effects of my choice are a boss chorus pedal an Ibanez Tube Screamer a wah pedal and a DOD Grunge and they all sound perfect. The only thing I wish the Twin came with was a drive knob, but I guess that’s what the Tube Screamer’s for.

Well I only had the guy for 5 months and so far not a one problem. Just use the stand by during breaks to keep the tubes in good condition. All said and done I recommend this amp to anyone who loves surf music, blues, reggae, and punk. On a last note, one more thing about the Twin Reverb it isn’t a reissue for nothing, just like cars there’s some pretty good ones out there but nothing beats a a classic.

A classic sounding tube amp, designed for rock, country, jazz, and blues. Lives up to the 35 year reputation it well deserves. Plenty of head room to handle whatever your feeding it, and still stay clean.

Crystal clear as loud as you can handle it. Tube reverb just enough to make it sing without making it slur. Yet, I feel it leaves something to be desired in low end. I personally run an EQ flat with 100hz boosted 16db just to compensate. But still the best sounding amp I’ve played.

Not as good as expected. Within the first year I’ve had to repair it twice. Completely inexcusable, I hope that my amp does not represent the rest. It would seem to be a tank, and hopefully it will one day live up to expectations.

This amp works extremely well, even at low volume settings. It really gives it up when you turn it up past about “6.” The reverb and tremolo is to die for. Now my old boss reverb and tremolo pedals are redundant. This amp is very ergonomical. One power and standby switch, plug your guitar in, and you’re ready to go.

This is one toneful amp. I tried many classic amps alongside this such as a Vox AC30, Roland Jazz Chorus 120, Mesa Boogie combo and a Marshall Bluesbreaker to see how they compared, but the Twin Reverb was clearly the most articulate and sweet sounding. It responded better to my style of playing. I use a customized Telecaster with loads of stompboxes and it sounds great. A friend recently told me that a Tele and a Twin were the perfect combo of guitar and amp. I think he’s right!

Well, it’s a Fender, what do you think? My experience with Fender products are, they always deliver. It’s very easy to use, sweet to play and does exactly what it promises. I would recommend this amp for anyone playing jazz, funk, hard rock, alternative, etc.

The amp sounds sweet, that’s all there is to say — sweet. It sounds sweet low and the cranked sound is even better. The amp doesn’t have much to it except reverb (very nice reverb at that) but you can stack whatever you want on top of it. Tons of headroom, and some really nice tones.

Of course this amp probably shouldn’t take much abuse, but I think it could hold up to quit a bit. It has a nice look, and seems solid.
