  6. Performs very well. Not quite enough power for gigs. Makes a great practice amp though.

  7. Performance Rating: 9

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Great sound quality. If you keep it below 7 or 8 it sounds great.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  6. Well worth the money. Cool distortion, doesn’t sound all that bad clean though.

  7. Performance Rating: 6

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Pretty much sounds like mud. I just hate it when an amp ruins the sound of a Fender Strat.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 4

  11. Construction

  12. Pretty sturdy. You can sit on top of it and use the opening in the back like a desk drawer and keep your music in it. Pretty useful.

  6. This amp has blown me away. I thought because of its size it would sound like crap. But it has really put up with the abuse I have given it. All and all I would have to say, this amp rocks.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. The amp sounds awesome except when you play above 7.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 9

  11. Construction

  12. The amp seems solid as a rock. It stands up to everything I put it through. I haven’t had a problem yet.

  2. Band: Putrifaction

  3. Model Year: -----

  4. Price Paid: $90

  5. Performance

  6. For a little practice amp it kicks. Definetly the best for any beginners out there ’caues it does what’s expected of it.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Crisp sounding and very cool. It tends to start to sound like crap when getting up to the volume level of 7, but hey it’s only a practice amp and if you jack it up that high your neighbours will be whippin yer butt!

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  11. Construction

  12. Excellent solidly built model. I can’t really say anymore because I haven’t got any complaints. It’s THE best of practice amps.

  6. It is super simple, which is good for beginners like me. It has channel switching and a pre/post control. The amp has an extra input jack for a CD to practice with, which is nifty. The Rage 158 is easy to use but kind of heavy for its power.

  7. Performance Rating: 8

  8. Sound Quality

  9. It sounds crisp and clear at very low volumes, but has sketchy distortion. If you turn it up loud enough (over 7) it is constantly distorted, like Limp Bizkit or Korn, but overall the weak 15 watt amp sounds like crap. It’s okay for practice, but it’s pretty tough to keep up with a drum set.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 4

  11. Construction

  12. This amp is as solid as a rock and it ain’t going anywhere. But would you expect anything less from a Peavey? The walls are like an inch thick with metal reinforcements. You could stand on it if you wanted to. I don’t think I could break it if I tried.

  13. Construction Rating: 10
