  5. Performance

  6. This is a very versatile amp in a small package. Plenty of range of tones with its 7 modeling modes, and its on board effects. It’s a great starting amp that is great for any music. Its 10“ speaker packs a punch when you turn it up. Bottom line: this thing is misleading in size.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Quality is great for what you pay for. It produces minor feedback if not set properly. Plays great low, but gets mildly distorted when cranked full out. The digital modeling shouldn’t be overlooked, it can sound like a Marshall stack, Peavey, Fender Twin Reverb and Bassman, Mesa/Boogie Rectifier, Vox and does a decent impression of an acoustic guitar. Perfect for building licks and ideas before hitting the studio. Though when not adjusted right can sound stale (or that could just be my cheap humbucker). Bottom line: A selection of amps and effects crammed into the perfect beginner amp to find your unique sound.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  11. Construction

  12. Built like a packing crate, this thing looks like it will last me a long time. No corners cut on making this thing (except the rounded corners). Bottom line: Boys at Roland are not stingy.

  13. Construction Rating: 10
