Sovtek looks simple, but Sovtek is a no-nonsense amp!

The amp is very easy to use, it has bass, mid, and treble and that’s about it. This is a single channel amp with no reverb, so It’s not as versatile as my Fender amps. This is the loudest amp I have ever played, it’s really too much for everyday playing, but on occasion my drummer gets out of control so I turn my amp up to about 5 and clear the room.

Sound Quality
This amp really articulates the sound of my guitars. It is very loud and the distortion is crisp with limited sustain. I use the amp through the low input with pedals, and it seems to handle it quite well.

Construction
The unit seems pretty solid, it’s a real back breaker as far a weight goes. I do have a problem with all the input and output jacks, there made of plastic and have a tendancy to snap easily. I use this amp mainly for band practice once a week — it sounds good but I wouldn’t use it at a gig. Maybe once I change all of the jacks. The single channel and lack of reverb are the main drawbacks.
