Boss PS-3 Pitch Shifter/Delay

Boss PS-3 Pitch Shifter/Delay

  1. Name: Ben

  2. Band: Outside

  3. Price Paid: $150

  4. Performance

  5. This is one of my favorite pedals. It takes a while to find good sounds. But it’s not horribly difficult to use, but much more difficult than, say, a Dano Cool Cat.

  6. Performance Rating: 8

  7. Sound Quality

  8. Some sounds are great, some not so great. It does pitch shifting, whammy (w/optional expression pedal), detune, and delay. You can also shift to two different pitches and keep your actual pitch in there too. I’m not going to list my settings, but you can get some wicked synth sounds. The echo is a bit sterile, I wouldn’t use it as a dedicated echo unit. Some of the pitch shifting does not retain realistic guitar tone (especially when you go higher up), but that’s fine for me because I use it for a lot of non-standard sounds. Some may love it, some may hate it. I love it.

  9. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  10. Construction

  11. I’ve had it for about a year now. It has not given me any problems. I use it regularly.

  12. Construction Rating: 10
