  6. This pedal is very easy to use. Features are described in the other reviews so I won’t go into it. It’s very sturdy and seems very well built. The ads say that this pedal reproduces vintage overdrive and it’s not entirely true. With my small class A combo, I get good overdrive and even a good modern (mid-scooped) crunch. But with a clean amp like my 70’s Fenders, it doesn’t deliver.

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Like I said, it doesn’t work with clean amps very well. It sound too ratty and treebly like a transistor type distortion. I think it’s just the combination though. Still, I’m disapointed because I got it to use with the super clean Fenders and it only works well with with my class A combo that already has a nice overdrive by itself. So maybe I don’t like distortion pedals and prefer the sound of tubes. Sound wise, I think it’s versatile though. I give it a three because it seems to do fuzz better than a tube overdrive imitation.

  12. Solid as a rock. Metal box. Can’t complain.

  6. The Daddy-O does exactly what it says on the box — it reproduces valve-sounding overdrives. This is probably the best pedal I’ve ever owned — and one of the cheapest! The only bad comment I have about it is that the pots are a little close together for my fat little fingers. Still gets a 10 tho’.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. The sound is absolutely beautiful — believe it or not this is not an over statement! The valve-like overdrives start smooth and go right through to crunchy, the three channel EQ allows you to play with the sounds hugely and within minutes of plugging it in I was extremely close to the overdrive sound I’ve been looking for all my life! It can sound a little trebley, but the EQ sorts that out fine. This is NOT a pedal for Metal players, but superbly suited for Blues, Country etc.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 10

  11. Construction

  12. Excellent build quality with a metal case about 2-3mm thick! Unfortunately the pots are mounted in a plastic section, so if you were stamping a little too hard you could do a bit of damage, thus the rating of 8.

  5. Performance

  6. Well, it’s easier than your average drunken sorority girl. Five knobs, volume, bass, mid, treble, and gain. It took me like a day to find my sound(s). Nothing really complicated here.

  7. Performance Rating: 10

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Sound quality is very good — warm tube-like overdrive at lower gain levels. If you turn up the gain it becomes less warm and more crunchy. Very nice sounds, just watch the treble. I can get good Tom Petty, Police, and Radiohead sounds out of this thing. Also very good for blues playing.

  10. Sound Quality Rating: 8

  11. Construction

  12. It is one thick chunk of metal. Unless you get one that’s like a factory defect, expect this puppy to last, Daddy-O.

  13. Construction Rating: 10
