  6. The old Memory Man was one of my favorites back in the 70’s. I must say the new one sounds better.

  9. Kind of noisy, but I’m spoiled by digital gear.

  12. Oh yeah... they’re pretty tough. I dropped mine off a truck. It still works.

  6. It gives crazy warm organic (like the ad says) analog repeats. I like it better than the sterile digital garbage out there. For analog delays, I would have to say that this would be the best. It has 550?-600 ms. of delay. most analogs give at most 300. the only problem is that the repeats decay when you turn the delay up. The chorus/vibe gets a bit warbly after turning the knob past 2:00 but I can use that in my sonic pallete.

  9. t hums a bit. I guess I could clean that up by making it true bypass. but what did you expecct from straight analog? When I drive the DMM with a tube screamer, it is a bit more harsh. I guess that wouldn’t normally be used a lot though. I am a tone freak. The chorus and vibrato are divine and you get more control than a cheaply made stereo memory man. I have never heard analog repeats that are so long and they sound a lot more crisp and defined compared to say a Tokai analog delay.

  12. It is built like a tank. The paint wears off of the bent metal chassis, but that isn’t what I bought the pedal for. If it did break (yeah right) Electro-harmonix-Sovtek would replace it for me. I still feel like I need to treat it gently though.

  6. This pedal is over the top! It’s not a normal digital delay but a device for sonic terrorism or ethereal soundscaping! The pedal has delay, feedback, blend, level, and chorus vibrato controls. The delay sounds good and not as clean as a digital delay, very organic and spacy at the same time. The controls have good range. The chorus vibrato modes are cool but very [messed] up sounding. I wanted a delay and have a penchant for over the top sounds and am very happy with the pedal. It’s got personality! The only problems I have with it is there is no on/off indicator light, and with the input level control it is hard to get a good volume without distorting the pedal. Que serah!

  8. Sound Quality

  9. Sound quality is good, maybe a little treble attenuation but my guitar is trebly anyway so it’s not so bad. You definitely want a clear sounding guitar for this effect. The effect has a nice metallic high end that accentuates a Fender guitar nicely.

  11. Construction

  12. Construction is good, no problems at all. It comes in a wooden box and is total 70’s. It’s made of sheet metal like old school effects — it’s a reissue ya know! Digital stuff is evil! Adios amigos!
