I've checked out a lot of overdrive pedals in the search for a good overdriven tone through my Fender Blues Deluxe amp (wonderful on clean, tests you a bit to get a good overdrive but I love this amp!) On the advice of a player whose tone is close to what I'm looking for I checked out the Stamps. The construction is tank like! It's very simple to set up, the two seperate overdrives each having their own settings. Each drive also has it's own little light, different color for each so it's easy to tell at a glance where you are. Drive 1 is a nice medium drive, not to harsh at all. A flip of the A/B switch and you can get the open back cabnet sound or closed back. Drive 2 is crunchier, leaning towards the 808 tone but not nearly as harsh, in my opinion. Both drives have a nice tone, and are easily controlled. A toe tap and you do a true bypass. Some work with the presence and level settings and you can bounce between the 3 nicely. The knobs have a nice feel to them too, a good resistance when twisting, no cheap pots in this baby! It is, by far the best overdrive pedal I've used, for the tone I'm shooting for! Works well with the Fender tube amp, too!

The tones this pedal puts out are beautiful! To me they aren't harsh at all, they can go from subtle overdrive to ballsy and keep a very tastey character. It takes some playing with the settings to dial in your preferences, but you will find them on this!

As I said above, this thing is built like a tank! I bought mine used and it looked brand new. The stomp buttons are good quality, the pots as well show good quality, having that nice feel as you turn them. The jack plugs are just as high quality, no plastic or pot metal on this beauty!! Nice clean switching with no noise. Also no noise from the amp, this pedal does it's job quietly! Cool purple finish with yellow lettering too! You don't miss seeing it!

This is a very easy to use two-channel overdrive pedal. It also has an A/B switch that allows you to choose between a combo and large cabinet sound. It allows you to set the amount of overdrive on each channel. In addition, it has a presence knob that is very tasteful. This pedal is definitely what I call a “high-end” unit.

The best thing about the Drive-O-Matic is the sound quality. Unlike most overdrive pedals, it contours itself to whatever guitar you are using. This results in a natural, warm, tube-amp sound. I've used with an SG, Rickenbacker, and Telecaster. The results are very pleasing to the ear. When I switch from a clean sound, I don't have to worry about losing any dynamic range. The pedal literally sounds like I plugged straight into a vintage tube amp. I have never heard such an authentic sound in a pedal!

The pedal is very well constructed. It has a metal casing and I have never had any problems with it. Also, you get a long battery life. In addition, there are two different colored LEDs to let you know what channel you are currently using.
