Easy to use. Hard to go wrong really! Just be careful no to have Comp and Tortion cranked full at the same time! Can use as straight boost, Dist, Comp (with gate) or all three at once! Woah! Tone helps shave off harsh tops. Also sounds great on DI Bass and amazing on vocals, (No other processing needed just set it up and sing!) I'm told it sounds cool on close mic'ed toms too!

I originally bought it to get a high gain distortion sound in a heavy metal/desert rock band. It does this perfectly. Really warm, fat, thumpy vintage sound, (rather than tinny, metallic metal sound!)
Now I use it to solve the problem of the drive channel in my Hot Rod Deluxe sounding thin and lacking. Straight in to the clean channel I get full range distortion as warm as drive channel with extra fatness from Comp that sounds great for Rock/Heavy but back off the gain and it sounds amazing with my strat for Voodoo/Surf Twang! Allows sound of my Strat to shine through, (forget the TS9). Is there nothing it can't do? Why is such an Ace pedal discontinued? -

I've had mine for 9 years and I'm still using it! Feels solid, knobs solid, switch feels solid but easily depressed.

It’s pretty easy to use, and the manual has a lot of good suggestions for starting out. This is a two-in-one compressor/overdrive, with some noise reduction thrown in to keep things civilized. Knobs are volume, tone, comp, and tortion (distortion).

Killer! Lots of sustain, great sounding overdrive. The tone knob is really powerful too. By turning the knob a bit toward the bass end, I made my Telecaster sound really beefy without any muddiness. You can have compression by itself, distortion by itself, or both together.

Seemed pretty well built. Not a tank, but good enough. Now, after this glowing review, you’d think I’d have kept it under my pillow at night because it’s so cool. Well, I sent it back. Why? Because I came to the conclusion that I just have too many distortions, many of them excellent, and I also already have a great compressor (from my Korg Toneworks 411fx super multi). So, I sent it back and will be getting a Boss BF-2 Flanger instead. Flanger is the only effect I don’t have covered (well, I have a crappy flanger in the super multi, but it’s pretty useless) in my embarrassingly large arsenal of effects. And since I’m a fan of The Police, Pink Floyd, and The Cure, I figured I better get a flanger. I tested it out at the store, it seems pretty good. Not nearly as good as the Electro-Harmonix flanger, but a lot cheaper and smaller so I can squeeze it onto my pedal board.
