There is not a lot that you couldn’t do to your guitar sound with a graphic eq, with this pedal. It’s just an over-rated distortion pedal.

This pedal turns my 3000 dollar Deluxe Fender Strat into a 50 dollar job from the K-mart.

Construction
It cost me 230 aus. dollars to have a new chip and output pot put into this pedal. I never know if its going to work or not. The bypass switch works sometimes, other times it just gives a crackling sound when I turn the unit on.

Performance
Well one thing is for sure in this unit: you’ll never run out of possible settings. I have been playing and recording with this unit for almost four years now and I still keep finding new sounds. And it’s really easy to use considering the explainations for every switch and knob are on the unit as well as in the manual. I would say it offers the player a wide range of sounds within the tube amp “vernacular.”

Sound Quality
As a true believer in tube amps I must say that no electronic circuit can duplicate the sound of a tube amp but I admit this unit comes closer to that sound than any other unit I’ve ever heard. This unit is however far from being just another distortion pedal. The versatility is such that it will be difficult to need any additional distortion pedals ever. It is quite possible that you ll forget how your amp’s distortion sounds like once you ’ve laid hands on it.

Construction
This is a metal cased unit which will stand up with heavy abuse. I know cause I haven’t been very kind to it all this time. I’ve been facing some problems with the on/bypass mode switch lately but I guess after four years of regular everyday use this should be expected from any unit. But as far as the sound is concerned it still sounds as good as the first day I plugged in.
