  6. The processor works very well. Great sample/play functions. Great compressors and distortions. Could use a few more effects but works well with what its got. Very easy to use. Does all it promises and more!

  9. Some of the clean sounds are a bit choppy at times but overall, good. Distortions are amazing! Effects are great although the pitch shifter could have been a little more realistic. Noise reduction reduces noise without loss of clarity, great! Choruses are shimmering and clear and the Time Trip Delay effect is mesmerizing!

  12. Mine has had trouble with the footswitches and needed to be repaired, input/output/power switch needed to be soldered back to a solid connection. All of these are potential hazards to any owner of a GFX-707. But, if you have a basic knowledge of how to fix things like this, you’ll be fine! I fixed mine, no problem.

  6. I would have to say that this is one of the most versatile pedals, I have ever used in the years I have played guitar. In minutes I was creating patches that I still use today. I have had this pedal for a year or two and I have still yet to be disappointed.

  9. Another great thing about this pedal is that you can make any sound that your heart desires. I wasn’t too fond of the preset patches though.

  6. Purchased at Frontline Music Kingston. I switched to this unit from Korg’s AX1-G which has no rhythm unit and a display which is not lit. I got tired of bending over to see what effect was called up. The Zoom GFX707 has a great LED display and you can label patches for easy recognition! It is a great sounding but very simple rhythm unit. Lots of effects for a rather bargain price. Dials that allow you to modify your patches quickly in live situations. Handy adaptor/battery options for power and those AA size batteries are a fairly economical size compared with the little rectangular 9-volt jobs.

  9. f you’re into rocky distortion sounds, you’ve hit a garden full! Other stuff is nice too; I really like the chorus. Effects are acceptably clean and the simulated amp sounds make an interesting difference. The pitch function is a bummer when set to produce an octave below the guitar note. It’s OK on high notes but look out if you go lower! It makes a beating/fluttering effect that ruins the octave stuff. Sounds like maybe that bottom note isn’t quite in tune. Can’t Zoom tweak that to make it useful? I emailed Samsontech a day or two ago about this but no reply so far. I’m starting to regret selling my Korg AX1-G. The effects were just as good and that octave effect worked! It would have been nice to get a “pushed” tube sound or a milder distortion effect, but all the distortions are pretty hard sounding. The AA betteries get used up within 14 hours according to the manual, but I used NiCad rechargeables and they died within about 3 to 4 hours. I bought some of the new rechargeables made with NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) and they should last better I’m told. Review Summary: It’s a pretty good deal generally. My disappointment is because the octave effect is one that I was looking forward to, and it seems to be the one that doesn’t work very well. I’m still looking/watching for a fix for it.

  6. When I first plugged my brand new GFX-707 I was basically amazed at what I was hearing. I was looking for a clear lead sound so I definitely found what I was looking for in this great effects pedal. It is very easy to use for a beginner but it is also complex enough to keep the best of guitar players occupied.

  9. Although most of the sounds are incredible, I found a small handful that were rather tinny, but I don’t care because I never use those anyway. The amp feedback is great, especially if I turn its built-in distortion setting. Overall I think that the effects are clear enough to satisfy any keen guitar player.

  12. I haven’t really had any accidents with the effects pedal but it seems to be very sturdy even if it is plastic! It is small enough to pack away neatly and it doesn’t get in the way. Good things come in small packages! Thats what I say.

  6. This effects unit is simplicity in itself. Within 10 minutes of first turning the unit on, I was creating “useable” patches, and tinkering with the factory presets. For the price, you can’t beat the interface and space for patches. I will admit, however, that there are probably only 4 or 5 of the factory presets are useable at all (imho), but they perfectly demostrate the capabilities of the unit. Effects have an average of 3 params, and include a whole bunch of distortions, reverbs, modulations, and delays, as well as an expression pedal and a gate (noise reduction.)

  9. This unit sounds “good.” The effects sound a bit digital, but are “very” useable, and blend well with each other. Basically, it’s everything you’d expect out of a stompbox, and more. However, the sampler sounds like my rear. The sampling level is way too low, but does anyone actually use those things? The drum machine sounds good, and covers a variety of basic, but useful beats.

  12. This thing is solid. True Story: Like, a week after I bought it, I was driving out to a band practice. Well, I must have left the effects unit on the top of my car by mistake, and it fell off while I was doing 100-110km/h going around a curve. After I’d freaked out for an hour for losing it, I finally found it, took it to practice, plugged it in, and it worked FINE. And that was nearly 10 months ago! I have had a few problems with the wiring of the inputs (possibly due to the fall off the car!), but a few simple solders fixed it up no problem.

  6. I bought this pedal last year after many hours of searching and testing of other pedals of it’s kind. It’s a multi effect unit. It has two pedals and an expression built in. The good thing about all Zoom pedals including this is the ease of use. I was jamming away with great sounds in the first few minutes.

  9. This pedal has some of the best modulation effects around. All of them fully customizeable. For each effect you have the three controls which control three different parameters of that effect. The delays are quite good too. The distortions are OK but could be better and there are some effects that I will never use (Ring modulator?)

  12. Although the outer shell is plastic, it is very robust. I have slammed my foot on it numerous times without any problems and the control knobs are protected from your feet. The only problem that I have had is that my power adaptor input might have had something wrong with it. The battery signal kept coming up but it’s fine now.
