Guitar Rig 3 - Digital Performer 5 Plugin Setup
Here a method fo using Guitar Rig 3 with Digital Performer 5 that allows you to record the guitar signal unaltered on one track, and processed by the Guitar Rig 3 plugin on another track.
Tracks Window
On the first track, make sure you have the Rig Kontrol set as the audio input and output. I have named this track "RigKontrol3". This track will record the straight, unaltered guitar signal. On the second track set the input for "bus 1". Create this input if you need to. Set the output of the second track to the Rig Kontrol. I named this track "bus track". Record enable both of the tracks.
Mixer Window
In the first track (RigKontrol3), insert Guitar Rig 3 as an insert effect. Setup Guitar Rig 3 any way you like. Now in the audio out section, below the insert effects section, send the signal to bus 1. This will send the Guitar Rig 3 processed signal to the second track where it will be recorded.
Record and Play
Now hit record and play. You should end up with unprocessed audio on track one and processed audio on track two, as seen below in the Sequencer window. If not, double check the settings and make sure everything is plugged in correctly. I can't gaurantee it will work for you, but it works for me.
