Seymour Duncan Introduces The Custom Shop Joe Bonamassa Signature Pickup Set
The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop has teamed up with blues-rock virtuoso Joe Bonamassa to produce the Joe Bonamassa Signature Pickup Set. This immaculately crafted and calibrated dual-humbucker set accurately replicates the P.A.F. pickups in Joe’s beloved 1959 sunburst Les Paul. Their rich, dynamic, and nuanced voice will appeal to all tone connoisseurs who cherish the passion and power of the original humbucker.
Wound on the historic Leesona machine that created humbuckers for Gibson back in the ‘50s and ‘60s, the set features an Alnico 2 magnet in the neck pickup and Alnico 3 in the bridge. Period-correct butyrate bobbins, lightly antiqued nickel covers, wooden spacer, and retro-style “Bonamassa” P.A.F. stickers heighten the vintage vibe.
Only 1,959 Custom Shop sets will be sold. Each will be hand signed by Seymour Duncan and Joe Bonamassa and include a special USB flash drive with video interviews, special features, and more.

IK Multimedia Introduces iRig STOMP
IK Multimedia has announced the iRig STOMP, the first stompbox guitar interface for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. For the first time, guitar and bass players can now integrate their favorite iOS signal processing apps into their existing live pedalboard setup for enhanced tone shaping and effects processing.
Features: Compact, durable yet lightweight, aluminum-cast enclosure integrates easily into any traditional pedalboard; Can be used inline with other effects pedals, or directly connected to amplifiers or PA systems using regular ¼" guitar cables with no need for adapters; Allows precise adjustment of the signal for perfect guitar and bass levels with its large input gain knob; Active battery-powered output circuit improves headroom, especially when used with high-gain amplifiers in the AmpliTube app reducing feedback and crosstalk when recording; The bypass switch allows engaging or bypassing the AmpliTube app chain of effects – like a traditional stompbox – for seamless integration into any existing rig; Ultra-compact form-factor can be easily carried on the road; Features a 3.5mm/1/8” jack for silent practicing with headphones; Includes AmpliTube FREE app and can be used with any other guitar processing app that uses the iOS mini-jack.
TC Electronic Introduces PolyTune Mini
Two years ago, TC introduced polyphonic tuning to the world and since then guitarists everywhere have welcomed this next-generation way of tuning with open arms. Now TC reveals the world’s smallest polyphonic tuner: PolyTune Mini that will fit on any pedal board. Sometimes size actually does matter and in such cases, PolyTune Mini is the perfect solution as no other pedal tuner in the world will take up so little space, which means more room for other pedals.
“When designing PolyTune Mini we set a goal right from the start: We didn’t want to compromise on features in any way,” says TC’s Guitar Product Manager Tore Lynggaard Mogensen. “Despite shrinking it down to a 3rd of the size of the original PolyTune, our engineers did an absolutely incredible job taking all the cool stuff from PolyTune and shrinking it down to a tiny package. It really is the kind of product you have to hold in your hand to truly appreciate the size, build quality and attention to detail.”
PolyTune Mini is based on the exact same technology as the original PolyTune, so like its bigger brother it shows the tuning state of all strings simultaneously by simply strumming the guitar, allowing guitarists to get back to playing in a matter of seconds. Just like the original PolyTune, PolyTune Mini is among the most precise tuners in the world, tuning with +/- 0.5 cent precision in chromatic mode and +/- 1 cent accuracy in polyphonic mode. Also, it automatically switches between chromatic and polyphonic modes depending on whether all strings are strummed at once or each string is picked individually. Finally, PolyTune Mini features Drop-D and Capo modes as well as True Bypass for zero tone coloration and a super-bright LED display with the same amount of LEDs as the original PolyTune.
Orange Amps Launch New Professional Cable Range
The new cables achieve a high performance using electrolytic tough pitch (ETP) pure copper that has 99.9% Oxygen completely removed in the process. This oxygen free custom-made copper thread helps increase conductivity to achieve ultra-strong signal transmission, ultra-low impedance and unparalleled sound clarity. The cables have improved music signal transmission and extremely high audio quality, with heat shrink over connections for extra strength and Neutrilk gold plated connectors. The ultra silent cables come with a woven cover for hardwearing flexibility and are shielded with a PVC double jacket and then woven nylon for extra rugged durability.
The cables are available in Orange for those that want to be seen and black if the preference is for low stage visibility. The range comes in various lengths and configurations and include instrument, speaker and microphone cables. Engineered to high specifications, these cables are made tough for long lasting use both for live and studio applications. The cables will be available starting May 2012.
