It’s a pickup! You set the selector switch and it is on! Seriously, with the 4 conductor wiring, you have the switching options for coil split, series/paralel, etc.

Sound Quality
This pickup blew me away! Hot to clean and everything in between! It’s designed for boosted mids and bass, but it’s not a distortion type pick-up. On one hand it can sound like a PAF or ‘59 or it can drive the front end of a good tube amp into an overdriven frenzy. It sounds very similar to the bridge pickup in my Ernie Ball Axis guitar, which has the pickups designed for Van Halen. If you play a lot of different styles of music like I do, and want a very versatile pickup, give this bad boy a try.

Construction
Exposed coils (non-covered), wax potted to eliminate feedback and squeals, 4 conductor wires for all switching options. Built like a good pickup!
