  6. It is easy to use. I trialed this. I do not understand what all the hoopla is about. It doesn't sound anything like the amps it claims to. I am a guitar, into an amp, kind of player. I play Marshall Plexis and old Fender Twins. It is a representation of the sound of the real deal. Kind of like someone singing with their throat instead of their diaphragm. Singing (throat) thru a mike with some effects you can sound similar to someone that sings with their diaphragm. In a recording most people can't tell. Think the singer for the old bands. Boston or Def Leppard (throat) and Sammy Hagar (diaphragm), got the idea, If you heard those singers side by side without amplification anyone would hear the diff. But with recording many things can be hidden. The POD works well in the recording environment. Playing live would disappoint. It's a recording tool if you want a different guitar sound for a part, IMHO.

  6. Very easy to use . Good manual that's easy to follow. That's something most companies leave out these days but they lay everything out for you in plain english and that's cool. It's a little box of magic! A guitar players dream tool to have in the studio!!!

  9. Some say the POD just doesn't sound like the original [amps.] I don't care. I've never played through most of the amps that Line 6 modeled for the POD but I know that there are enough killer amp tones in the POD to satisfy every genre from metal to blues to country and all points in between. The thing is awesome in the studio. The EQ really works well and the effects are great. Very easy to get the sound you want. I love the noise gate too.

  12. I have no plans of taking my POD on the road . It's a studio piece anyway. However, Line 6 just introduced a new POD that's set up in a two-space rack design. COOL! It's built very sturdy in that metal case and I have had no problems with mine at all. And believe me it gets plenty of use. There's just something about that kidney-bean-on-steroids look that's just too cool. Go buy one and you will see the light.

  9. Doesn't sound exactly the same as the modeled amps, but for its purpose, sounds excellent in the studio. Has noise gate which is virtually hum-free and the effects are very usable.

  12. Seems to be a very solid processor, not sure about road use...but for what I'm going to use it for , it should last a lifetime. Made of aluminum, it is vey well laid out and designed.
