Eighth Note Strumming 2

We are going to continue to look at eighth note strumming. This time you are going to strum using eighth note strums and quarter note strums.

Strumming eighth note strums

Notice the counting written below the staff. When you count a pair of eight notes, you want to use the number for the first note and the word “and” for the second note. You may want to tap your foot on the number beats (not the + beats) to help you keep the tempo even.

Let’s learn the E Major chord next.

Work on your fingerings until you can play it cleanly. Then work on memorizing it. Congratulations you now know three chords.
